Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse: Review

*Spoilers Alert 🚨 *

Let’s just make one thing clear, this film checked off all the boxes. Action, romance, drama even had a sprinkle of comedy. Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse has set the tone for home action movie screening. If you watch without surround sounds, you are cheating yourself! From the first second to the last this was action & adrenaline packed and I appreciate that. The airplane crash had me clinching my seat, holding my breath, in panic and excitement. Its literally sinking but he has to retrieve the weapons to complete the mission, he almost didn't make it. #hedidhisownstunts

Michael B Jordan stars as Navy Seal John Kelly who has recently completed his last mission, and has “retired” to be with his wife Pam. Unfortunately that mission backfired and members of his team including Pam who’s pregnant has being murdered. The attempt appears to be orchestrated by Russian forces, which appears to be a green light for U.S. to declare war. Jordan's ability to be emotional and venerable in Without Remorse, shows how much he's grown as an actor and man. MBJ is definitely built to be an action hero.

*Disclaimer*     I'm NOT a Tom Clancy reader or video gamer, but overall the film did not disappoint. Of course there was some clichés from predictable storylines and dialogue, but its an ACTION MOVIE. The only annoying thing for me was Jodie Turner-Smith's character Karen Greer also a Seal. I believe she was the leader of the group (Girl Power) and I wish she had more action sequences. I know she was pregnant while filming, but I expected more from this character. I appreciate and commend the other Seals they were exciting to watch even saw our own Corey Callet💪🏾. s/o Jacob Scipio, Todd Lasance, Jack Kesy, Luke Mitchell and Jamie Bell.

I would like to highlight Lauren London who plays Pam Kelly, did absolutely amazing. This is her first film since the tragic death of her partner late Rapper/Activist Nipsey Hussle, and this role to me reflect her real life feelings during that difficult time. Listening to her dialogue with Jordan in some scenes made me cry but also made the theme more genuine. I’ve seen quite a few of her films and it great to see her play outside of the typical “good-girl/pretty girl turned bad” role.

I give it 8.5/10 and my rating of 💚💚💚💚Have you seen it yet, what are your thoughts? Good? Bad,why? What’s your favorite scene? Streaming now on Amazon Prime. Don’t forget your snacks! Happy watching!

Tom Clancy's Without Remorse

Have you seen the final trailer released for Tom Clancy's Without Remorse! I'm ready for it, the initial trailer for Super Bowl had me anxious for more. It includes context, plus more previews of action sequences, which I personally appreciate. Originally set to be released in 2020, its finally set to premier on Amazon Prime on April 30. So make sure you have your membership login and your surround sounds on max!! Have your popcorn ready and a ICEE may be necessary(it will get hot🔥).

Here's what you need to know about the film

Former Navy Seal Sr Chief, John Kelly (MBJ) is on a mission to avenge his wife Pam's death(Lauren London), after what appears to be an failed assassination attempt on his life. To find who's responsible for the "hit" he will have to join forces with Special Ops. Set to seek HIS revenge, there seem to be an international threat that will require his help, to fully complete the mission.

Directed by Stefano Sollima, the film also stars Jodie Turner-Smith, Guy Pearce and Jamie Bell.

Check back after the release to read my review.

Thankful Thursday

It’s been years since I updated the blog, but the support never stopped. I can say I’m suffering from the COVID blues, but the blues were already there. Recently I started back writing, having creative ideas and its made me hopeful, and this is why.

A while back on the Wine and Weed podcast💚, I remember Mike and Sterling talking about applying to work at a fast-food restaurant, but were rejected and labeled “over qualified”. I remember being so surprised by that, but also inspired at the time. Today I see them as men who started as young actors and grown to be distinguished business men.

Scrolling through Instagram the other night, a fan page uploaded a clip from Mike’s interview with Complex during the Black Panther promo run and it made me cry. I’m not joking either, I kept watching this 30 second clip over and over. I wished I seen this interview when it first premiered, but better late than never.

The Complex interview mention the fast-food incident, which I explained earlier, but I didn’t know the context. In the interview he explains about the experience in detail, and I caught off guard learning it was after filming Red Tales; My blog was created around that time as well. I don’t know if he was ever aware of this page or any fandoms during that time, which cause me to cry. If he had any doubts during that time, in my eyes, he was already accomplished and deserving of future roles.

I’m so proud of both Mike and Sterling(congratulations on the 100th episode🍷and💨!) glad y’all kept going and growing. Personally, I’ve been at a stall and receiving those rejection letters has become too familiar, to the point that I don't even look for a call back anymore. I'm learning patience and my time to blossom will soon come.
