RED TAILS, WHY CARE

Couple of weeks ago, George Lucas's Red Tails, debut starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrance Howard, Neyo, Tristan Wilds and our Michael B. Jordan. Though it tells the amazing story of the Tuskegee Airmen, with their contribution to WWII and the hardships of racism within the forces, it wasn't really popular with critics. The Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post, writes that it  wasn't as informational or inspiring as hyped up to be. IT CAN'T BE TRUE, IT WAS APPROVE BY PRESIDENT OBAMA! Though I have not seen the movie... YET, I wouldn't say it's a bad movie, because the characters are fictional, based on real life Tuskegee pilots or they use a lot of comedy and satire in difficult and important situations. I think those news post disapprove of this Lucas film, because it was already done before. In interviews, Lucas explained that he's aiming for a younger audience; well he's got me, with those dogfights in those fighter jets (great cinematography). What "people" need to realize is the bigger picture, African-Americans played a greater role in the war too. Last year in my U.S. History class, we watched a scene from Pearl Harbor and I didn't see not one black person. The class history book or my teacher didn't even mention the Tuskegee. Until this movie I had no idea of the Tuskegee in WWII or it being a remake. I'm not ignorant in knowing my Black History or History in general, because television or school for that matter, don't acknowledge it or go deep into. Even the Civil Rights section wasn't very informational, only giving props to Martin Luther King Jr. what about the others. HE'S NOT THE ONLY ONE; I know that like the back of my hand. I can't wait to see this movie, so that I can form my own opinion and get educated. If you still haven't seen it, go see or wait for the DVD. SUPPORT MICHAEL B. JORDAN!!!!!

All I do Is WIN!!!

So the Academy Awards are around corner ( Sunday February 26), and you know what that means Brad Pitt and George Clooney mania! If you don't know and live UNDER A ROCK, this is the BIG and IMPORTANT awards show of the year, to honor movies and productions that stood out, or so they say. Lots of critics are always rooting for the guys, whom  I can't understand; the women do the most work. There are some new comers like Viola Davis for best actress in a leading role, with The Help. Or Melissa McCarthy for best supporting actress in Bridesmaids (my favorite of the year). One thing I don't look forward to is acknowledgment of that stupid movie Twilight. I've never seen it, but those previews made no sense and those people waiting hours in line were ridiculous. It's always coming to DVD even Blu-Ray. They even made it like Harry Potter, having the movie cut into two parts! J.K. Rowling better get her lawyers. Also I don't understand why none celebrities are accepted to these events, i.e. Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton at the Grammy's. WHY IS SHE HERE!! Neither has no talents, can't sing, act or dance. Also it just dawned on me that, The Help was nominated and acknowledged, being that it's supposed to be inspirational to Blacks, but there is a chance that they won't win. I know the academy wants to show their support to the black community, but let's be real, Precious (2010) was horrible, a disgrace. As a Black person I was offended. It degraded African-Americans especially women (but they blame rappers) and gave Americans in general a negative view to the outside world. Mo'nique absolutely DID NOT DESERVE AN OSCAR, period point blank. Nothing special or outstanding about her role. FAILURE! However there is one good thing about the awards show, on Monday when Fashion Police with Joan Rivers comes on and discusses best and worst dress, she's lets them have it. So tune in this Sunday on ABC and CHECK OUT THE WEDSITE at http://oscar.go.com/. GO MELISSA!!

Movie Fix

Avator what? James Cameron who? New movie Chronicle released  about two weeks ago, set the record for the rest of the year future movies, involving special effects. The director Josh Trank did an outstanding job with it's plot, while Mickey Kirsten did an phenomenal on the special effects and graphics. I literally thought, i was watching an 3D movie. It stars the amazing Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell and Dane DeHaan, who are high school friends. Then one night at  a party, they discover an enormous hole in the ground, that contains some magnetic machine. It gives them the power of telekinesis, and DeHaan character buys an camera, due to family issues, and decide to film their experience from start to finish. Through its course emotions rose and relationships are tested, its really not your normal sci-fi boy flick. I'm telling you from an female's point-of- view its worth seeing, more than one. NOT ON BOOTLEG PLEASE. This should definitely be mentioned in next year Academy Awards and it was #1 in its first weekend, making over 12 million dollars http://movies.yahoo.com/. Its better than Paranormal Activity, compare that to Chronicle, it makes the "Activity" look amateur.  Go out and support Michael B. Jordan he did an great job, he didn't over act, wasn't portrayed in a negative way either. Also he still looks good without his mustache. Can't wait until he's featured on house, to see his new Character. GO MICHAEL!!!

WHO DAT?

I bet the guy in the picture above looks familiar. You probably have seen his work in All My Children, or Parenthood, or maybe Friday Night Lights. Or if you're like me, you know him as Wallace the sensitive corner boy from The Wire, season one. His name is Michael B. Jordan (like the ballplayer) and recently his talent can be seen in George Lucas's Red Tails and Josh Trank's Chronicle. He's a amazing actor with incredible range and sex appeal. He's also the youngest African American to be cast on All My Children and nominated for an NAACP award. Support him on the big and silver screen. Follow on twitter at MichaelB4Jordan. I remember him as the soft- spoken kid from The Wire, who couldn't live that "thug life" (no snitches allowed). SPOILER ALERT; he was taken out by his best friends Bodie and Poot. Evidently he was a fan favorite, and according to him, he states in interviews that many people come up to him and ask, "Where's Wallace". Off-screen Jordan seems to be a cool guy. Ladies he's also single (thanks to twitter), so why not take a look for yourself. Trust me!!! Your eyes or any of your other senses won't be disappointed. I bet he even smell good....pause. He has an east coast accent too, which i like, voice not too deep or too soft. It's calming. PLEASE SUPPORT HIM, he deserves it, tell him angielee sent you. https://twitter.com/#!/michaelb4jordan
